Multi-Team Architecture — One Organization, Many Teams

Daywatch now supports organizations with multiple departments and regional teams — each with its own schedule, rules, and manager — all under a single billing roof.

When your workforce grows past 50 people, a single flat team roster becomes unmanageable. Different departments need different schedules, different rules, and different managers — but you still need one view of the whole organization. Until now, Daywatch supported one team per organization. That changes today.

What changed

Daywatch now supports multi-team organizations with full hierarchy. Here's what this means for your daily operations:

Team Hierarchy & Sub-Teams. Create sub-teams under your main organization. Each team has its own schedule, its own shift rules, and its own workers. A regional security company, for example, can have separate teams for North, South, and Central — each managed independently.

Team Switcher. Managers who oversee multiple teams see a team switcher in the dashboard header. Switch between teams instantly to view schedules, assign shifts, and manage workers — without logging out.

Automatic Failover When Managers Leave. If a sub-team's manager leaves, the team is automatically flagged as "orphaned" and becomes visible to the parent team's manager. No shifts are lost, no workers are stranded. The parent manager can view and manage the orphaned team's schedule until a new manager is assigned.

Cross-Team Worker Transfers. Move workers between teams with a single action. Their existing shift assignments are automatically cleared, and they appear in the new team's roster immediately.

Org-Wide Seat Management. Your subscription's seat cap is shared across all teams in the organization. When any team manager tries to add a worker, the system checks the org-wide count — not the individual team count. No more juggling separate quotas.

How this helps your team

  • Departments stay independent. Each team sets its own shift patterns, compliance rules, and worker availability windows — no cross-contamination between departments.
  • Leadership keeps full visibility. Organization admins see every team's status at a glance, with the ability to drill into any team's schedule when needed.
  • Manager transitions are seamless. When a team manager leaves, the system ensures continuity automatically — no manual handoff, no lost data, no gap in coverage.
  • Billing stays simple. One plan, one invoice, one seat count — regardless of how many teams you create.

Try it now

Open your dashboard and look for the team management options in Settings. Start by creating your first sub-team — you can add more as your organization grows. If you're a new user, choose "Enterprise" on the signup page to see the multi-team demo in action.

Work Rules Are Now Built In — Compliance Without the Setup

Scheduling rules based on Israeli, US, and EU labor law are now automatically added when you set up your team — no configuration needed. Each rule arrives with the correct enforcement level already set: hard rules that block illegal assignments, and advisory rules that flag overtime without stopping the schedule.

Your industry's labor laws, built into the schedule

Daywatch now ships with 32 pre-built regulation rules across security, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, hospitality, and retail — for Israel, the US, and the EU. Industry-specific rules are clearly badged so managers always know which rules apply to their sector.

Schedule Across Multiple Sites — Assign Every Shift to a Location

Each shift now belongs to a specific site. Define your locations once, assign every shift to one, and let Daywatch automatically enforce site-specific rules, staffing limits, and transport logistics — all without workarounds.
